The Last Will and Testament of Elizabeth Owen, Widow of Willistown Chester, Oct. 1 1741

Then formally appeared Thomas John & Richard Jones two of the Witnesses to the within Written Will who on their solemn Affirmations did declare that they were present & saw the Testatrix therein named Sign Seal Publish Pronounced & declared this Writing to be her last Will and Testament & that at the day thereof she was of sound mind & memory to the best of their Understanding.

Elizabeth Owen's will to be Delivered to Benony & Catherine Griffith after her [Decease]

I Elizabeth Owen Now of the Township of Williston {sic} in the County of Chester in the Province of Pensilvania Widdow being Ancient and weak in Body but of Sound disposing mind and Memory Praised be God for the Same do make and Dispose my last will and Testament as followeth viz

First and Chiefly I Recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it Hopeing through the Merits and Intercession of my Blessed Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ to Enjoy a Blessed Imortality, And my Body I Recommend to the Earth to be Decently Buried at the Discretion of my Executors hereafter Named

And as for what Worldly Substance and Effects which through the Mercy of God I am now Possesst of I give Bequeath & Dispose as Followeth viz

First it is my will that my just Debts and Funeral Expenses be Paid and discharged Also --- I give and Bequeath to my Son Thomas Owen the Sum of Four Pounds Current Money which is due to me from him as by his Bill dated November the Twenty fifth 1740/ Also I give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Elinor Vernon the Sum of Five Shillings Current Money of this Province Also I Nominate and Ordain my daughter Catherine and her Husband my Son in Law Benony Griffith to be Executors of this my last will & Testament to whom I give and Bequeath all the Rest and Residue of my Goods--Effects Money and Debts to me due in whose hands Soever the Same Shall be found and lastly I Declare all other wills by me made heretofore to be Null & void and Declare this only to be my last will and Testament In Witness whereof I have herunto Set my hand and Seal this Fifth Day of the Month Called May in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred Forty One
