James Shannon, 1825

In the name of God Amen.

I James Shannon of Sadsbury Township in the County of Chester and State of Pennsylvania. Being weak in body yet of sound mind and disposing memory- do make and ordain this my last Will and testiment in manner and form following.

Imprimis. I surrender to the grave my mortal body in hopes of a joyful reserrection and my soul to God who gave it.

Item: It is my will that all y lawful debts shall be paid after my funeral expenses are discharged and all those hings done as soon as convenient.

Item: I ill that my beloved wife JOANNA shall own and have a full title of the lot of ground we now live upon with the appurtenances during her natural life for her living and support- Also I allow her a choice of the cows likewise her choice of a bed and bedding with necessary household and kitchen furniture and the rest of my peronal estate to be sold for the payment of my debts and if any overplus to remain in the hands of my executor until my grandson ANDREW SHANNON shall arrive at the age of twenty one years.

Item: I will and bequeath to my beloved daughter RACHEL MOORE fifty dollars to be paid to her when my grandson ANDREW SHANNON shall arrive to the years of twenty one.

Item: I will and bequeth unto my beloved grandson ANDREW SHANNON all my right title interest and claim to and in the lot I now possess and ive upon als the monies that may be in the hand of my executor to be given to him when he arrives at the years of twenty one- provided nevertheless that my wife JOANNA must have her living out ofsaid lot and my daughter RACHEL her fifty dollars and my executor his lawful fees.

Lastly I constitute and appoint my trusty friend JAMES B. STEWART to be the executor of this my last will and testiment according to the true ntent and meaning thereof - hereby revolking and disannualing all other wills and acknowledgeing this to be the only one. Witness my hand and seal this twenty third day of December AD 1825.
