Organized in 1853 by division of West Fallowfield Township. Among the
inhabitants of what is now Highland Township (1881) in the last century were the
families of Adams, Boggs. Boyd, Cochran, Cowpland, Fuhtey, Gibson, Glendenning,
Hamill, Haslett, Parke, and Wilson.
